Affordable Education at BMS
What are Affordable Education Funds?
Affordable Education Funds are those monies designated solely for covering tuition costs for families. They may not be used for any other purpose/operating expense of BMS.
How does BMS get Affordable Education Funds?
There are several sources of Affordable Education Funds. The largest portion comes from Education Improvement Tax Credits (EITC). EITC funds come from local businesses that have gone through the state level process to receive tax credits while directly benefiting the families at BMS. These funds must be fully utilized, or they will be re-allocated to other private schools in the state.
Endowments are the second largest portion of our Affordable Education Funds. Endowments are investment accounts where the interest earned may be used to subsidize a student’s tuition expense.
Individual donations are the third source of funding for Affordable Education. Individuals approach BMS wanting to make an impact on a family’s life by covering tuition costs.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we anticipate receiving $100,000 of Affordable Education Funds from the above resources. $100,000 goes a long way in supporting our families!
How do I apply?
Visit FACTS to get started! FACTS Tuition Management collects your financial data and provides a report to BMS with your calculated need. Your personal information is not shared outside of the Business Office.
What is the award process?
Once financial applications have been received by the April 30 deadline, the Finance Director compiles information from the FACTS Tuition Management site. Using the Affordable Education scale, awards are given based on the listed income levels and percentages all while considering total Affordable Education Funds available each year.
