Drama is part of the English Department at Belleville Mennonite School. As such, drama is seen as developing an understanding of a form of communication that can be of service in the Kingdom of God to tell powerful stories about the human condition.
The BMS drama program is committed to telling stories with as much integrity as possible. The school accepts the challenge of telling these stories "warts and all;" the drama program does not necessarily condone the lifestyles and behaviors of the characters portrayed on stage.
BMS high school performs one play or musical each school year. Middle-schoolers perform one drama each year.
Mrs. Ann Quinn, high school English teacher and drama director, has been directing plays at BMS for 11 years. She performed in performances all through her high school and college years and brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role here. Mrs. Quinn strives to use the talents of each student, whether they be a lead role, or a sound technician.
